This project was actually a custom request from a woman who works with my husband at Cartoon Network Studios on “Adventure Time”. She asked my husband if I could make the character, “Lady Rainicorn” into a scarf for her daughter’s birthday and I agreed.

The scarf was done completely in single crochet with random wool blends from a local craft store. I had an easy time matching colors since my husband works at CNS and lent his advice in my color choices. I began by chaining 255 stitches, then starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, I crocheted along the length of the scarf. Instead of turning, I put 3 single crochets at the end and crocheted along the bottom to form the concentric color rings. At the top of each curve, I increased 3 stitches to turn the curve. Each color has 4 rows. Once I switched to green, I decreased by 3 at the top of each curve. At the end of red, I crocheted the two ends together to close the scarf. This could also be done by sewing the ends together.I wish I could say more about the pattern, but I improvised the whole project.

This project was super fun and I’m glad it’s going to a good home!

This was challenging but super fun!

Thanks, Mandy!
